The Brush Mountain trails are often referred to as Pandapas Pond, Brush Mountain, or Poverty Creek to describe an extensive trail system just outside the town. The trails are located in Jefferson National Forest which is managed by the National Forest Service. The terrain trail system has miles of singletrack and fireroads with just about every type of mountain biking, there are steep climbs and descents, creek crossings, rocks, roots, drops, jumps and everything in between. The trail system also encompasses Gap Mountain.
The trails in this system is well maintained and marked and there is something for riders of all ability levels. Beginners will likely want to stick to Poverty Creek Trail and advanced riders can try their luck on Grizzly Trail.
