Description for Deep Creek
Deep Creek is a very difficult trail. Steep and rugged this a great descending trail that will provide challenge for any gravity enthusiast. It is also a fun and different way to climb up to Noble Knob. Sure as heck beats riding up a road. Although there is some hike a biking near the top most of the trail is very ridable if you are an expert climber.
Deep Creek is nearly always accessed from Noble Nob Trail and descended. The trail is extremely steep and rugged with lots of roots, and small drops. Caution should be afforded for even though it's not a very popular trail, the terrain is so steep it may be difficult at speed for less experienced riders to stop, so be extra alert and slow and stop for occasional hikers.
There is a nice spot for a quick view and a break about 2/3rds of the way down. It is encouraged since it's a 4 mile run that you take at least one break to cool your brake rotors down to minimize fade, and/or possibly do damage to your brakes.
Although there are short sections of Palisaides and Ranger Creek Trails that require more skill to clear, Deep Creek as a whole is the most technical trail of the 3 trails coming off of Noble Nob/Dalles Ridge.
