Description for Poo Poo Point
This ride is ENTIRELY on a logging road. Now that you understand that:This is a great 15 mile round trip training ride and one of the few rides open year round at Tiger Mountain. Going up or down with very little flat riding, a round trip will give you a vertical gain of 2,600 feet. If you want to be in shape for summer epics this is a great place to start. In either direction you have to climb climb climb but there is still enough downhill stretches to give your legs a chance to recuperate before the next grunt up. It is gated all the way so other than a few paragliders driving to the launch point, you will be free of all other traffic.
From the Route 18 parking lot, turn left past the gate and ride up the road. After passing another gate, the road does some ups and downs and as you turn a big corner you will begin a longish downhill. After 1.8 miles see the entrance/exit to the Iverson Trail but keep going up the road. After another minor climb the road flattens before beginning a LONG 3 mile descent down to 15 Mile Creek. When you cross the creek you will be 5 miles into the climb.
Now the REAL climbing begins. The next 2 miles are pretty relentless. When the road finally flattens continue until the road Y's and take the right fork - pedal a few stokes up and you will be at the PooPoo Point launch site for paragliders.
Return the way you came. 15 miles round trip.
