I rode this in August 2011, while in the area for work, when we had some downtime. Rented a 29er FS, when my normal ride is a 26 FS. It was recommended we do the loop clockwise, so you get the hard climb out of the way, and then have fun on the flats and downhill.Parts of the climb in the first couple miles can be challenging. Maybe the 29er helped, but I was able to stay in the clips on most sections. There are some loose rocks that can be a challenge on some climbs. Not all of the signs are completely obvious. Towards the end, we missed one and started a second lap of the course. The downhill sections are a blast, with some small berms thrown in to get some air. I got a little happy with one, and paid for it in the switchback right after. Need to look further ahead!
