Description for Cedar Hill State Park
Cedar Hill is an all around great place to ride. The trail is well laid out with three loops of varying distance (3, 8, and 12 miles). The trail is fast flowy singletrack full of rocks, roots, creek crossings, berms, and switchbacks. Intermediate level riders should not have any issues riding everything in the park, beginners will probably struggle, but those willing to step up to the challenge and push themselves should have a good time without too many dismounts (or wrecks).

Great xc trails, lots of long climbs, roots and rocks. Three loops of 2.5, 7 and 10 miles. The trail is well marked so you won't get lost.

I love this trail! It has a great flow, even when climbing, the banks allow you to keep up a good speed, makes the effort easier. The trail is real smooth and very easy to follow. There are no leg-busting climbs, but if a workout is desired, just keep up the pace. Except for a few drops here and there, Id say that the most average biker could ride this whole trail. Only negative: One time I rode it in Sept and the spiders had set up "traps" about every fifty feet! First bike through (me) gets a face full! Because it's a dirt trail without a rock in sight, I hear the Park closes it down if it rains, so call first if you have any doubts.

Great riding trail where you can really plug in some distance. Nothing too technical and most of the climbs, although long, aren't at really steep grades.
Trail is maintained REALLY well...all dirt...rocks and roots here and there. Trail is built pretty tight and curvy...not a lot of places to really go fast b/c there's a 180 on it's way.
Most of the trail is hardpack...but parts consist of a loose/sandy soil, which also keeps you reserving the top end. Bike slid out from under me around one corner.
4/5 stars, only due to the fact that there are not many technical areas. Overall, a really great place to ride. Definitely recommended.

This is a beginner-friendly trail, mostly consisting of very tight turns and some easy creek drops. It is reminiscent of some of the loops at Walnut Creek in Austin, for those who have ridden that trail.
Near the end of the big loop, as the trail runs along the lake, take note of a section of tallgrass prairie on the right. This is one of few sections of "virgin" tallgrass prairie left in Texas, and it provides an interesting context for how most of the Blackland Prairie used to look prior to European settlement.
