Description for City Park
Emma Long City Park offers some of the most technical riding in the Austin area, in fact it is some of the most technical riding we have done anywhere. There are large drops, big step-ups some gnarly climbs and some really fun downs. Because the trail is made up almost entirely of limestone it can be ridden any during and right after rains without worry of damaging the trail. This is definitely an advanced ride, intermediate riders will find themselves on and off the bikes pretty frequently, walking around big features is not a problem but the constant nature of it does get new riders frustrated, it is much better to take them riding somewhere else.
City Park does allow motorcycles so be sure to listen for them while on the trail, they are generally very courteous to bikes and the trail sharing seems to work better then anywhere else I have seen, plus if you are a trials motorcycle fan you can watch the riders push the limits of what a motorcycle is capable of doing, there are some really amazing riders that frequent the park.

City Park is an all around tough ride, for the first time in many years the trail changed direction in early 2010. Having ridden all over Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California, City Park is still one of the toughest rides around.
The park is shared with Motor Cycles which seems to work really well, also it is fun to watch the trials riders doing insane tricks on some of the rock outcroppings.

This is the second trail I ever rode in Austin, but seriously there has to be something more difficult then this around here, I'm pretty new to Austin, and just now getting back into biking again after a long missed two years absence, but if anyone can point me towards more technical rides please let me know, my endurance is a lil shot but I'm getting back into the full swing of things one ride at a time, also I need some riding buddies, my discipline is more free ride and downhill, so Austin isn't the best place for my discipline but I can dust off my stumpy and see where it takes me if anyone is interested please email me chrismtbr@gmail.com thanx folks, happy trails!!!!
