Lake McMurtry is a local favorite trail with many riders there are nice intermediate and beginner level singletrack loops. The more technical aspects of the terrain include wooded riding that can get some what tight and twisty through forest, ups and downs, drops, rocks, creek crossings, and roots. The Southeast trail is a faster ride and is also more scenic since it gives you nice views of the lake. Beginners typically will have to get off their bikes a few times but it is still an enjoyable ride. The trails are well marked which makes navigation pretty easy, although if you have not ridden here before it is hard to get a good flow the first couple times through.
