Description for Sherman Branch
Most locals would tell you that Sherman Branch is the best trail in the Charlotte area. Its fun rolling terrain, moderately technical in sections. There are a lot of tree roots mostly fast with a few features sprinkled in. The Roller Coaster section is a always a favorite, it's jump after jump, tight ups and downs, corners and a nice balance tree ramp.
It is a busy trail but has an old school rake and ride feel to it. Some great singletrack that is worth a day trip to ride. There is something for everyone. This should be on your must ride list!

An awesome trail to keep up to speed because of its proximity to home. I often stop by here on the way home from work. I'd say that it's definately the best trail in Charlotte however if you're from out of town you might want to try the trails at White Water Center if you only have a day. The single track trail is well thought out and it really is what you make of it. It can be fairly technical if you choose to make it so and if you ride the trail at high speed. Although there aren't many uphills if you push the limit you'll feel that you've ridden the 8 miles or so once you're done. The trail has three main sections to it that interconnect Rollercoaster, Main and Lake Loop which all interconnect with easy access back to parking if you want to bail. Note: the trail will be closed after heavy rain. Check here for additional info, maps etc. http://www.tarheeltrailblazers.com/TrailsReview1.cfm?trailid=64
