The Bald Eagle Trail at Higgins Lake has undergone some recent improvements which have smoothed out many of the problem areas and improved the overall flow of the trail. Overall the riding is geared towards intermediate level riders, many who ride here one time don't take the time to learn the trail and choose not to come back. This is unfortunate because the trail does have a lot to offer once you get familiar with it. There is not much in terms of elevation change and the terrain is pretty similar to other trails in the area. There are still a fair number of roots which gets annoying after a while. The trail does take at least 2 days to dry out after a heavy rain.
This is certainly not a destination trail that someone should drive a long distance to ride, but if you are in the area and looking for something new to ride, it is worth checking out.
