Description for Anglers Ridge
The Anglers Ridge Trail System now includes over 20 miles of trails, making it one of the largest singletracks around. The trail is open from dawn till dusk. The trails are closed at night per City regulations, with the exception of the SVMBA led night rides on Thursdays. The trails are designed for riders of all ability levels, so beginners to advanced riders should be able to find something that fits their riding style. There is a lot of elevation change so come ready to climb, thankfully all the climbing is rewarded with fun downhill action. The trails are flowy with the perfect mix of smooth and technical riding. The trail terrain is pretty common and includes roots, rock gardens, creek crossings, as well as some northshore type mountain biking stuff like skinnies, ladders, bridges, gravity drops, log pyramids, other obstacles to test your skills. The trail system is extremely well maintained by SVMBA and has is well marked so it is hard to get lost.

Trails total over 33 miles of single track.Three trails stand out as the best.Witchback @6.4 is the most difficult with lots of tight twisting climbs.Crooked Stick @5.3 is not as tough but more flowing and still tight and twisting. The newest trail @ 6.0 is Hidden Hollow and it has everything, lots of hills berms and switchbacks. You can ride loops red, blue and green that take in several trails. There are over 40 bridges that are the best anywhere. These trails rank in the top ten in the east and top 25 in the world and #1 in Virginia. Maps are available on google maps and SVMBA.org Go to SVMBA face book for rides and Angler's Park trail work for trail updates. The trails do not close for weather conditions. All trail are within the Danville city limits but very wooded and has abundant wildlife.Restrooms and bike wash are available @ Angler's Park.
