Description for Clear Springs
The Clear Springs trails are a well maintained intermediate singletrack trail in an absolutely beautiful area. Beginners will likely find themselves in over there head and spend a lot of time hiking, so it is better to find a less technical place to ride if you are not confident in your bike handling skills. This trail is definitely worth making the trip. There are a few creek crossings so you will get a bit wet. There are several technical aspects to the trail, including roots, rocks, small drops, step ups.

Although it's been several years since I have ridden at Clear Springs, I can tell you it is a good trail- possibly the best within an easy drive from New Orleans. Well-marked, easy-to-follow trails. Good aerobic workout, reasonably challenging single-track. The area is nice, too- camping is available very near the trail-head (run by the National Forest Service,) and Nachez, MS is a beautiful little town, so if your SO or friends don't want to ride, they can go into to Nachez and have other fun while you ride- or you have fun in the evening and/or on non-riding days.
