Description for Hartwick Pines
Hartwich Pines is a well marked singletrack ride, it does not have a lot of elevation change and does have a lot of sand, but not enough to ruin a ride. This is a great place for teaching someone that is new to the sport the basics of mountain biking. In all there is about 10 miles of trail in the system that winds through 9,762 acres of rolling hills, overlooking the AuSable River valley. The park includes the largest stand of old growth white pine in Michigan's lower peninsula and is home of the Hartwick Pines Logging Museum.
