Description for Highland
Highland is probably the most popular mountain biking spot in the area, and for good reason it is the best place to ride in these parts. There are four well marked loops (A,B,C,D), that have a fair amount of elevation change which means tough climbs and awesome descents. The terrain is fantastic flowy singletrack filled with a variety of smooth dirt as well as switchbacks, drops, berms, logs, roots and rocks gardens to keep you challenged. Depending on how your combine the loops and what you choose to ride, it is easy to get in 15 or so miles or riding.
Overall Highland is probably not well suited for beginners, but strong intermediate riders should still have a good time, advanced riders should not have many issues with the terrain. This trail should be on your must ride list.

The 4 trails make for multiple ride variation. "A" has several climbs, but the first half of "B" is most challenging with 1000 ft of climb, special for southern Michigan. "C" is technical but not as challenging as "D". Some days "D" feels significantly longer than 3.5 miles.
