Description for Island Lake
The Island Lake trails are well suited for intermediate riders or beginners that are willing to start steeping up their game. There are two loops, Blue which does not have much in terms of technical challenges is a smooth fast singletrack with a bit of climbing, well suited for beginners. The Yellow Trail is a bit more technical, with steeper elevation changes a couple of switchbacks and some roots, a solid intermediate ride. In all there is not a ton of challenge so some bikers may be disappointed, however if you are just looking for some XC speed training or a place to introduce a friend to mountain biking, Island Lake is a good choice.

I was first introduced at Island Lake 1 year ago. I have done other trails in the area but I always end back at this track. The speed is what makes it for me. 9.5 miles in approx 1hr 15 min. Description is correct when they say there aren't many obstacles but it's still a great ride. I see a lot of team riders at this course so it has to say something. Go during the weekday, it's the quietest.
