Description for Martin Creek Lake State Park
The Martin Creek Lake State Park trails are certainly not a destination trail that you would want to drive a long distance to ride. The trails are pretty much designed for beginners and are not very well maintained. If you are already planning a trip here, bring your bike along as a faster mode of transportation around the park, but don't make a special trip here just to bike.
The riding itself has some elevation change and weaves in and out of the woods, there is a fair number of roots and rocks along the way but the main issue is vegetation and debris on the trail.

This trail has long been abandoned, which means buckle up for the excitement! Take a leisurely downhill ride on what appears to be a fire lane, then be dazzled by how it ends in a 10 foot drop into a creek! Get a close view of the wildlife by having a face full of spiderwebs! Dodge lots of overgrowth while trying not to get your helmet pulled off! Test your skillz by jumping dozens of downed trees! Enjoy backtracking for 50% of the ride because you realize you were actually on a deer trail!
There must be some sort of wormhole in this particular section of woods, because I ran past the MM6 marker at mile 1, the MM1 marker at mile 4, and the MM4 marker at mile 5. Like out of science fiction! Amazing! I am analyzing RunKeeper closely to try and figure out how I was no where even close to the trail that is marked on the free map. The free map makes great TP, which was well worth the $2.00 I paid for it!
Overall, they should burn the trail and start over. WAIT! They did that already! Which is probably why there is nothing there now... The good news is that you will get some good road ride time in when you realize you can't find your way back to camp through the trails.
