Description for General Butler State Park
The trails generally follow old logging roads along narrow ridge tops through the park. Most of the trails end at the tips of these ridges which form peninsulas into Dale Hollow Lake, requiring a return trip on the same trail. Mountain biking is available year round, on the 5.4 mile Fossil Trail. From the description on the park's trial page it appears that the Boom Ridge Trail may also be open to mountain bikes, but you should call the park to confirm before setting out to ride it. Riders must wear helmets and anyone under 18 years must have an adult rider with them at all times. Trail is rated for the skilled rider.
