Description for Suwanee Creek Greenway
The majority of the Suwanee Greenway trail system is paved or grated MUT populated by walkers, runners and families of cruisers. There is, however, a system of singletrack trails off of the beaten path that will provide the beginner and intermediate MTB enthusiast with a great ride. The trails run along a steep hillside and feature several difficult climbs, speedy descents and small drops. The easiest access is from George Pierce Park located off of Buford Hwy (US-23) just north of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd (GA-317). You're best bet is to park at the small parking lot just inside the entrance to the park and take the paved path behind the pond. The trail branches off of the paved path on the far side of the pond and narrows into a fairly flat and open singletrack ride. This section is sure to be populated by walkers cutting through to reach the Greenway, but you don't have to look very hard to find the various entrances cutting up into the hillside. If you're coming from the Suwanee Elementary/McGinnis Ferry end of the trail, you will find the access point on your left just before you reach the second wooden bridge. Enjoy the ride!

I am a fairly experienced rider and find this park offers something for everyone. There are actually over 15 miles of trails if you use every paved and off road trail. In the woods I commonly see deer, rabbits, chipmunks, and squirrels. There are plenty of hills to get your cardio workout in as well. On weekends you'll yell left often as many walkers tend to forget this is a two way trail. The park has easy access to George Pierce park via bike so you can actually continue your ride for many more miles. Most of the off road trails are gravel and dirt with some sections having heavy tree roots to dodge. Because of the tree cover the trail stays wet for some time after a rain. I consider this my home trail as I can get a great ride in in about an hour after work.

I ride the greenway almost daily I live 2 miles away and can ride to it. There is a 2/3 of a mile single track that flows really well watch for walkers and other bikers. Few bridges to crossover and a couple of nice switch backs & short climes! All in all for a daily rider I hit the single track and the greenway to get in a 10 mile ride.

They opened George pierce park part of the trail today. It has a nice little .25 mile flat but slightly rooty trail.
