Description for Canal Trail
The Canal loop is a great little 2.8 mile stretch of single track just a stones throw from downtown Augusta. While there isn't a significant amount of elevation change, the terrain offers plenty of short but steep climbs/descents as well as a number of tight cutbacks and technical portions. Overall I would rate it as an intermediate level loop, though there is an optional portion called the razor's edge that I would only recommend to very experienced riders. If you are looking for a bunch of long bomber-style downhill this track probably isn't for you, however if you like a healthy mix of terrain and a solid workout you can't beat this loop. A killer loop for cyclocross and mtb race training as well.
