Description for Pinehurst Trail
Pinehurst Trail is located in Freedom Park, in Greenacres, Florida. This little known hidden gem is often overlooked because there are no signs or information when you enter the park. Turn east into the park, then south into the soccer field parking lot. The trail is located on the South West corner of the soccer fields, you must cross the soccer fields to get to it.
This a great technical trail with more twist, turns and technical surprises then you would believe in such a small area. It is well worth a drive and never gets old! Its very tight in parts as it winds through very dense South Florida brush. The trail is well maintained with quite a few intermediate and advances obstacles like log piles. There is one medium to large hill to climb (lot of sugar sand on the climb) with a root-filled exit. All obstacles have a detours for beginners. The trail is between 4 and 5 miles long.

It's in a county park called Freedom Park, in Greenacres, Florida and is maintained by www.forcemtb.org You wouldn't even know the trail existed because there are no signs that there is a trail when you enter the park. Turn east into the park, then south into the soccer field parking lot. The trail is located on the South West corner of the soccer fields...you need to go across the soccer fields to get to it.

I've had my trek fuel ex 5 for a few weeks now and Is a great track for beginners to train on, or intermediates/experts to just have fun on.

Fun neighborhood trail. A previous poster recommends crossing the soccer fields to enter. Please don't do that, per request of the landowner. It damages the fields. Ride out the front gate of Freedom Park, turn left on the paved trail. You will see the trailhead on the left.

This was my first adventure into Mountain Bike riding. Thus is listed as a beginner trail and this rookie still got beat up a little riding it.
The trail starts out as a very narrow trail full of tree roots and the every popular Florida "sugar" sand.
It was a great adventure none the less with plenty of optional "easier" routes (Blue) and challenging Red) harder obstacle paths.
Half way through the trail opens out a little with sections of rugs placed to get you thru the fine Florida sand that will mess up the best bike mountain riders.
As mentioned by others enter via Pinehurst Avenue and try not to cross over the soccer field as our bikes will tear up the grass. Its listed on my GPS as a short 2 mile ride from trail head to finish. May be a longer ride from parking lot. Takes about 30 minute to ride.
