Description for UWF
At UWF, theres two basic sections: Main side and Games Side. Total trail system is approximately 16 miles.
Main Side:
The main side is marked into three loops. The green -shorter loop and the red -longer loop. If you ride the red loop, theres also a loop off of that section which is the blue loop extension. The blue loop has the most technical sections of the main side. The trail can be ridden both directions. However, most people ride counter-clockwise when trail use is heavy -weekends, etc.
Games Side:
The games side is the orange loop that encircles a large clay pit area. The trail is relatively short compared to the main side as it is still being reclaimed after the hurricanes. The trail is also not as well marked as the main side. If you are not familiar with the orange loop, it is recommended that you join one of the local group rides to ride with the group.
Parking:
The best place to park to access all of the trails is at the Pate Trailhead off Pate Road by Gulf Powers Crist Plant. Visit www.PORC.org for more details and maps.

The map indicates what is known as the RED LOOP for these trails. This loop is really about 9.3 miles longs and can be lenghtened with the addition of the Bayou Trail which is "BLUE", shorted by just doing part which is the "GREEN" loop, and for those members of Pensacola Off Road Cyclists or otherwised privileged enough, there is also the "GAMES LOOP" on the north side of Pate Rd. These trails are often rated as an intermediate trail system because they are somewhat technical. There is even some elevation, more than you would expect in Florida. Definately a must ride. The trail head is off of PATE RD and directions can be easily obtained from any local bike shop. Come out and ride.
