Description for Son of Middle Creek
Son of Middle Creek is considered by locals to be one of the "classic" trails in Vail. The trail is a mix of a little bit of fireroad but mostly singletrack that has some climbs that will not bust your lungs, some good descents, some technical challenges, some water crossings (the water is cold!), and some loose stuff that you have to watch your speed going down.
Intermediate riders with good bike handling skills will be able to ride the majority of the trail, there will likely be a few dismounts for quick hike-a-bikes to get through some of the more challenging features. Experienced riders will enjoy the challenge, the trail is not beginner friendly.
Bring your camera, the scenery is amazing.
I believe part of this trail is closed from April 15 to June 15 for erosion protection and elk calving season. Check with one of the local shops before riding.
