Description for Colorado Trail Swan River
The Swan River Trail is a lot of fun, if you are visiting the area and have the time add it to your list. The trail is not overly technical, we repeatably heard this trail is an advanced ride, but I think we all agreed that good intermediate riders should be able to tackle nearly everything on the trail.
There is a fair amount of climbing but the descent is a super fast and fun singletrack roller coaster. There are a couple places where speed is not your friend though, the switchbacks are a good place to eat it pretty hard if you come up on them to fast.

Had a hard time finding the TH. Talked to a local and he suggested I start out at the Dredges TH on Co. Rd 6 then bike up the road to 354. The Colorado Trail will be on you left after a couple of miles. If you come to the creek crossing you went too far. Once on the trail, it continues to climb....and climb. After a short flat, stay to your left at the 2 forks and you'll come out the Dredges. If you go to the right you'll end up in either Keystone or the RV TH which is what this map on TrailFU shows. The counter-clockwise/road start is a much better direction to climb the uphill and the downhill is steeper this way so better to ride it than hike a bike it.
If you have a shuttle, the DH section to the RV is supposed to be a little bit better.
