Description for Dakota Ridge
Now this is what we call mountain biking! Dakota Ridge is a fun, technical adventure on the bike. It is definitely a trail for strong intermediate to advanced riders, there are lots of drops, tricky downs, a potentially a bit of hike-a-bike. We like more technical trails and Dakota fit the bill, a lot of the riding we did in the Denver area was to smooth and didn't scratch the itch for more something more challenging, thankfully the local bike shop turned us on to this ride. There is a bit of everything here, places to practice your trials abilities moving from rock to rock, some slick rock like features, fun descents, tight switchbacks and all around fun.
This was not a bighit/freeride type trail, more of a technical good time, skills work type trail.

I parked at the stegosaurus lot and ran my way up to the ridge and down to the road. Almost all rocks and up or down the whole time. Saw quite a few places where the bike pedals were scraping on some tight fits through the rocks. Super fun!

Tough ride....more for downhill guys than x-country, but the views are worth it and to see how the DH guys like their trails.
