Apex can be combined with other trails to make an entire day of fun, add Enchanted Forest, Pick and Sledge to make a great loop or combine the ride with Chimney Gulch and Lookout Mountain for a different loop.
Apex is an all around great ride, it is close to the city and should be on everyone's must ride list, with the changing restrictions and the heavy hiker usage it is tricky to find a good time to ride, but when you do actually make it out on the right day it is well worth the frustration. There is a fair about of climbing so your lungs and legs will get a good workout, the downs are fun, fast and flowy which makes all the ups totally worth it.

Pretty rocky and slightly eroded trail with a lot of drops and super technical riding up and down. During even & odd days the trails switches directions, just a heads up. Overall technical, rocky, and losse dirt/sand.
