Description for Dyke Trail
Dyke Trail is a solid advanced ride, like most the other Crested Butte trails, the area is just beautiful, aspen trees, meadows, and wildflowers. Not that you will really see a lot of that as your rip down the trail (stop and enjoy it every once in a while). If you like speed, this is the trail of you, it is easy to let your speed get out of control, so unless you know the trail you may want to use the brakes to stay in check. There is a fair bit of challenging technical obstacles, the timing through the big rock garden is tough to get right, it is completely rideable but once you are off your line it is hard to get back into the groove.
There is a bit of a hike-a-bike section which is a a drag, but overall the trail is very rideable if you have the skills. Advanced riders should be able to tackle nearly everything, strong intermediate riders should still be able to have fun, but less experienced riders may get really frustrated or hurt and should probably skip this one.
