Kennebec Pass is a good trail to shuttle, some maniacs do it as a loop, but for the sake of your lungs and legs the shuttle is the way to go. Even with a someone driving you up, you will still do more climbing then you want, and this ride is sketchy in some areas. Anyone you talk to that has done it will tell you to be careful through the steep talus section, it is too hard to walk and riding it is very tricky (but in our book easier then doing it on foot) so be careful a fall here could be disastrous.
The descent is what this trail is all about, it is a wild ride through some of the funnest singletracks your will ever put your wheels on. Intermediate riders may find themselves in over there head and off their bikes too much, this is definitely not a trail for beginners.
You are pretty remote on this trail so be sure to bring exposure protection in the event that a storm rolls in as well as plenty of food and water.
