Description for Canyon of the Ancients
In Cortez Colorado Phil's World gets a lot of the press and nearly all of the praise, which means that many people over look the fantastic Canyon of the Ancients (Sand Canyon) riding. The trail is intermediate to advanced singletrack mountain biking that weaves over slickrock and through ruins and on roller coaster like terrain. The section of slick rock are nice packed red dirt (like a lot of the other trails in the area). There is a fair amount of climbing which is always rewarded with fun downhill action.
