Description for Waldo Canyon
Waldo Canyon is a great ride, it is worth checking out if you have never ridden it. The ride starts with a fairly steep climb, you go from 7200 feet to 7600 feet in the first 1.5 miles. As you make your way up the trail will split, stay left you will loop back around to this point and ride down what you just climbed. From here you get to enjoy some really fun wooded singletrack.
If you are looking for something insanely technical on the ride, you can explore some of the offshoots, I have heard there is some really gnarly stuff. For the most part on the main trail, intermediate riders should be able to ride nearly everything at Waldo Canyon.

So I ran this one and it was great...the climb to the loop is amazing. I went to the right which brings you up the east side to the summit via switchbacks. On the way down I went on a couple of the off chutes that they had talked about is the description...wow super steep, loose gravel and obstacles. I would not recommend doing that on a bike, stay on the trail at least when going counter clockwise on the loop. 1:17 from parking lot to the summit and back at a 11:30 pace. No bathrooms or anything so take care of that before you go! And riding or running/hiking keep the rubber side down!!!!!

I just rode Waldo Canyon today after driving 11 hours from Flagstaff, couldn't have picked a better trail, impressive quick and fun technical ride. It had rained earlier so conditions were superb and at 530 pm only two other hikers and two other riders were on the trail so it made for a fast ride. The stairs up suck but they were fun coming back down, actually had an older couple applaud my decent.
