Description for Wheeler to Miners Creek
You can start this ride in Frisco or Breckenridge depending on how you want to do the loop. The ride is a high altitude alpine trail that is a mix of fireroads and singletrack, there are some pretty advanced features so beginners should definitely not attempt it, but strong intermediate and above riders should be able to make there way through nearly everything.
Unlike a lot of Colorado mountain trails this ride did not have the severe exposure, I may fall off this cliff into oblivion feel, it is more of an all around good alpine ride. There certainly are some challenging sections and some ups that will get all but the most experienced climbers off their bikes. There are some loose sections and some downs that you will turn your brake rotors red on (not really but they will get hot). It is an all around great ride that you can bust out in a few hours.
Because of the altitude and the amount of climbing this a super lung and leg burner, bring tons of water and snacks and sunscreen, check the weather when deciding what protective clothing to bring (especially early or late season).
