Description for West Magnolia
The West Magnolia trails are great, if you are in the area they should be on your must ride list. The trail is a mix of fireroads and singletrack open to bikes, hikers, and horses (motorized vehicles are no longer allowed). It is easy to get turned around on the trails so it is a good idea to bring a GPS or someone that knows the trails the first time out. Even after riding here several times you can find new trails that you have never ridden, it is a great place to go out and explore. There are some fun sections to practice jumps, improve technical skills and improve your bike handling skills. There is something for everyone to ride, from beginners to advanced bikers.

This ride will always be one of my favorites in this area. Because I live close to Boulder, this is a really fun area that I can get to in 30 min. Lots of different uphill and downhill sections to enjoy and the winding through the trees keeps it fun an interesting. There's quite a bit of forks in the trail, and can make it easy to get somewhat lost or find that you just rode in a circle. Just study the map at the trail head to get a good idea of where you want to go. The entire trail averages about 8700', and doesn't vary more than +/-150' or so.
They recently made a change tot he 'Re-Route' section of this area and added some very windy sections, jumps, and sections of large rocks to ride up and down on and I hear there have plans to do more!
This trail is certainly suited for a wide range of levels and rider types.
Afterward, be sure to stop in at The Sundance Cafe just North of the trail head for a bite.
