Description for Picture Rock Trail
The Picture Rock Trail is an all around good ride, there is a fair amount of climbing (about 3 miles) at the beginning of the ride. Its not too steep but it's constant. The closer you get to the top, the more you'll start finding out how rocky the ride down is going to be. After you hang a left at the Picture Rock cutoff trail, there's a cool ride through he woods and over some paths made of large rocks, ending up at a great overlook of Hwy 36 to Estes Park and can see the Hall Ranch trail.
The ride back is fantastic, there are some great fast and windy sections to keep you on your toes as well as some large rocks they placed on the outside of the tighter turns in effort to keep the trail from widening.

This trial is just awesome. The scenery along this ride is something everyone should take in. The bottom section is a very well groomed single track that slowly climb up the valley and past some old relics left over from ??. It's a bit of steeper climb at the top that can get a bit Rocky as that area (Heil Ranch) is known for and has 2 loops young can choose from at the top (Wild Turkey Loop @ 3.0 mi. and Ponderosa Loop @ 2.6 mi.) where it also connects with Heil Ranch Trail. Once you turn back, and head down you can take in a bit faster of a downhill and enjoy the views as you come out of the trees.
Great ride for anyone, and is a must do if you're in the area.
