The Stanford Rock Ward Creek Loop is one of the staple trails in the Tahoe area and is considered by many to the one of the classic MTB trails in the state. The ride is tons of fun and is consistently praised for its challenge and beauty.

There is a fair amount of climbing (around 2000 ft in all), so come prepared for some elevation change, of course with all the up, you earn some fun downhill (not bighit DH). The terrain is pretty standard for the area, dirt, rock, roots, and pine needles. The more advanced sections of the trail are pretty steep and very rocky, intermediate riders will likely be off the bike too much to make this an enjoyable experience.

The views along the ride are out of this world, so be sure to bring your camera.
