Description for Hummingbird Trail
Hummingbird Trail can be done as a loop or an up and down or as a loop ride, we prefer the loop, but even that has a fair amount of strenuous climbing. The trail has some great "slickrock" type features as well as rock gardens, drops, switchbacks, and some tricky ups. The terrain is rough and many of the sections are very advanced so less experienced riders may quickly find themselves in over their heads. Full suspension is a good option of this ride, the extra travel on the bike will be put to good use.

This is an awesome trail. Definitely unique in terms of terrain and great flow. If you are into rocky, technical and fast, you should definitely check it out. There's a pretty long section where you're jut riding down a rock face...they have to paint the trail markers on the rock so you know where to go! I think most people ride Chumash trail up and hummingbird down. I pushed my bike up stagecoach (which is a downhill trail - I can't believe people ride that thing!). So I wouldn't recommend heading up that way.
