Description for Saratoga Gap Trail
The trails at the Saratoga Gap Open Space Preserve offer some of the best riding in the area. The trail is not overly technical but the terrain has a fair number of rocks, small drops, roots, and steep ups and downs. The ride starts with a climb which gets you to the singletrack. The network of trails means that there are tons of great rides in the area that you can combine the ride with, we recommend either Stevens Canyon or Grizzly Flat. The views along the ride are fantastic and the trail has the perfect mix of technical challenge and flow.

Been ridding here since 1995 love this spot for a weekend run. You can park at the top of Hwy9 and 35(skyline rd). There is a vista point with parking and when the weather is nice a hotdog cart. If you park at the point ride across Hwy9 and start the climb. This will be a fun and technical single track worth every ounce of energy you put into it. If you complete the 2.2 mile first run and end up at skyline cross it go up the hill and go right there are several sweet rides that you can string together as a loop. They will take you back to skyline where you cross and do the first section of your ride back to the parking lot. There are a few challenging points going back to the parking lot like uphill tree roots that can be tough going up, so as you are heading towards skyline keep a mental note of these areas and remember to plan your speed and gear selection accordingly. After a few rides here the corse will stick in your mind and you will be hooked. It's a bit of a drive but so worth it, both in single track fun and beauty. Bring your hydration pack and a snack as this is a weekend run. You may end up out there for a long time.
