Description for Romero Canyon
Unfortunately Romero Canyon is not as good of a trail as it used to be, it was once a nice piece of singletrack, now it is a firebreak road that used to by the fire services. There is still some singletrack but it is smooth out. The trail is more of a hiking trail then a bike trail so be very careful for unsuspecting hikers and bring a bell! It is in good condition. The trail does still have some technical aspects and a nice flow.

I did the ride with the Road up and the trail down with a small headlight, it is in great shape and fast.
The road used to be a fire service road but is now a single track. The trail is more of a hiking trail then a bike trail so be very careful for unsuspecting hikers and bring a bell! It is in good condition.
The trail is technical. I recommend taking the smooth single track as an out and back if your not an experienced rider or you want a faster flowier ride.

Heart pumpin and rocky climb up make this a great workout. No cool down places really so you need to be in shape for the climb. Down is the payoff! Lots of hikers on trail so bell is a must. Though trail guides say bells are available at map points, don't count on it. Overall a helluva ride!

Took my bike along on a business trip. Had a blast on this trail. I rode the fire trail going counter clockwise and then avoided the steep/rocky section heading back and came back down fire road instead.
