Description for Arastradero Preserve
Arastradero Preserve in the Palo Alto foothills. This park is suitable for riders of nearly all abilities, although it's not flat, so it may be mildly challenging to some. However, it's easy to avoid the steepest and most-technical parts if you wish, and the main service road (Corte Madera Trail) is well suited to families.
There are no places to get water in the park, so please make sure you've got full water bottles before starting!

Parking wasn't a problem. Trail is exposed to sun 70% of the time. Watch for horses, hikers and daughters who's enthusiasm only lasts until they get on their bike.

Went in early January (wet season) main trails aren't too muddy but some side trails are complete mud bogs, and you may not find out until you have gone half way down a big hill. Very beautiful though with mostly gradual elevation changes but some are moderate (side trails mainly). Overall it's a nice preserve with fairly easy trails. Good for beginning mountain biking.
