Description for Tenderfoot
Tenderfoot is a singletrack ride, however most people add some of the area fireroads in to up the mileage and get in a better workout. The singletrack is well suited for strong intermediate to advanced riders, it starts with two nasty tight, rooted, tree obstructed switch backs that have about 15' of fall exposure if you don't take the right line through the roots. This is followed up by more of the same; more roots, rocks, handle bar grabbing trees and off camber tight, damp fairly steep stuff. If you crash here, now you've got a nice 30' steep ravine on your left to stop your fall. Follow some more and you'll find a few more ways to crash; steep, tight switch back, mossy, wet, rocky steps with drop offs now on the right. It finally mellows out into some upper intermediate choppy rutted former jeep trail. Watch out for hikers as this is a popular trail for locals. This trail is no joke and should be on your must ride list if you have never done it.

Definitely underrated trail as far as difficulty.
It's only intermediate if you walk your bike.
It should be a black diamond if not a double.
This trail starts with two nasty tight, rooted, tree obstructed switch backs that will have your ass over the back tire and will send you 15' down if you don't take the right line through the roots. (happened to me :-/)

This trail is no joke. I've ridden it 20 times and I'm always thankful when I don't crash. :-)

Its hard to pinpoint on these maps exactly where the trailhead is, but the first alternate route I posted "Tenderfoot Singletrack" is as close as i can get.(Too many trees)
Ride down the one lane rd at Mt. Home Inn for half mile or so and at the apex of a sharp right hand turn is the trailhead on the left side.
Look for a telephone pole directly over the trailhead and a house is on the right side of the trailhead.
You'll know you're on it because almost immediately you'll hit a sharp left hand switchback followed by nasty roots between some trees then a right hand switchback.
