The Marin Headlands actually starts in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, but to truly make the ride great, a nice touch is to actually ride across the Gold Gate Bridge. Of course you will have to contend with the foot traffic and the bolsters, but it is a small price to pay for such an amazing view. Watch for pigeons, I actually hit one, my wife still reminds me to this day about the time I killed the bird (a total accident, it walked right in front of me and I was enjoying the sites). The actually ride is composed of a series of connected fireroads, well suited for riders of all ability levels. This is not about a technical biking challenge, but is about seeing the area on two wheels. You are guaranteed a good time.
