Description for Black Mountain
We had heard great things about Black Mountain so we decided to give it a go, being unfamiliar with the area we actually started in the wrong location and ended up doing a ton of extra climbing, but once we got to the correct trailhead we reset the GPS and started the fun.
From the parking area off of Carmel Valley Road we road up and through Nighthawk which was our favorite portion of the trail, we then spotted a peak with a gnarly looking downhill section that looked fairly unused so we decided to grind up and bomb down, after that we worked our way around Miners until we reached Oviedo Way. There are several fast sections with loose rock that gets your heart pumping as you make your way around corners, there area couple of technical ups and downs but for the most part the trail is a solid intermediate trail.
