Description for Granite Bay Trail
Granite Bay Trail is a nice place to ride, but as of 2011 there is a $10 parking fee. Be sure to bring a swimsuit because you might as well go into the lake and make a whole day out of the trip. The singletrack is long and fast. The hills are pretty even going both ways so the whole trip is a work out. Adjust your tires pressure to accept loose gravel, packed gravel, beach sand, and soft dust. The track for the most part is shaded so it makes the Sacramento weather bearable. Granite Bay is not really a destination trail, but if you are going to be in the area, it is worth checking out.

I gave this 3 stars because you gotta pay $10 to park. Bring a swimsuit because you might as well go into the lake and make a whole day out of the trip. The single track is long and fast. The hills are pretty even going both ways so the whole trip is a work out. Adjust your tires pressure to accept loose gravel, packed gravel, beach sand, and soft dust. The track for the most part is shaded so it makes the Sacramento weather bearable. Keep in mind that I'm spoiled by Rockville. Granite bay is by no means terrible or awesome. It's right in the middle.

If you park at the end of Twin Rocks Rd of Auburn-Folsom Rd you can access the trails and park for free.
