Description for Sam Merril Loop
The Sam Merrill Trail is a great intermediate level ride that is a mix of singletrack and fireroad riding. While this is a fun ride, it is pretty much an early morning weekend or weekday ride due to the large number of hikers that occupy the trail. The ride starts out with a few miles of climbing that is not lung busting (if you are in shape) but it will get your blood flowing. As you make your way along the ride there are some exposed places so be on your game at all times, especially when you are riding near the edge.
The scenic beauty of the area makes the ride worth it alone, but the riding is good, so if you are in the area and looking for something new to ride it is worth your time.
