Description for Rockville Park
Rockville Park is a great little mountain biking trail system. The ride is suited for bikers of all ability levels (there is truly something for everyone). The terrain is flowy in most places but does include some rock gardens, overall there is not much in terms of elevation change unless you ride the fireroad. The trail is a bit of a spaghetti bowl of intersecting paths which makes it a great place to explore and ride different routes which makes it seem like a new place with each ride.

Rockville has a little bit of everything mtb related. Gotta pay to play though. Make sure you have your helmet and your pass or the rangers there will cite you. They're pricks.

Rockville, lots of rocks especially on the NE side of the park. Tons of trails but many are unmarked. Definitely get the feeling the place is meant to be ridden a certain way to get the most out of the single track. Trails criss-cross fire roads everywhere and you can learn the ropes but your going to need to go a half dozen times or more to get a feel for the place.
Lots of long steep uphill, most trails pass very close to trees and branches so you have to watch your head! Personally the place was too much of everything for my skill / stamina. Rock gardens are just section after section of technical skills without a break and most are at the top of steep climbs where your already wasted. The rocks are doable for an early intermediate rider and they were fun to do on the two sections where I ran into them BEFORE a climb or downhill.
If you have done Darrington/Salmon Falls, the climbing here is much more extreme (with the exception of Salmon Falls Trail). The area is smaller than most trail areas which is probably why your always climbing or descending steeper trails. Nothing rolling about this place. Coyote trail from Middle Mystic is a nice ride but its narrow and steep in areas.
Finally the views, well if your looking for scenic vistas of the whole valley and bay, then you have found the place. I think I could probably see a good thirty miles from the top of the tower loop. Enjoy.
