Description for Shafter
Like several of the other area trails, Shafter is an old fireroad ride, however it is a bit more technical then some of the other rides. The terrain is pretty steep in places and there are tons of switchbacks. Shafter does not have the length of some of the other trails but it has much more dramatic elevation change which makes for harder ups and some pretty crazy downs. The ride is very scenic which makes it worthwhile for the views alone.
