Description for Mitchell Canyon
Mitchell Canyon is local favorite mountain biking spot and one of the more popular Diablo rides. It offers up plenty of challenge for the intermediate level rider and has a climb that will challenge even the strongest riders. After you get all the climbing out of the way be sure to stop and enjoy the amazing views, in fact you should bring a camera so you can remember all the work you did and the reward of the scenic beauty.

I love this ride. This is one of my favorite Diablo rides, but it is challenging.
From the gravel parking lot to the camp grounds, if I remember correctly, it's
about 2200 feet in no more than 3 miles. It's a wall.
The ride up to the wall is a nice easy beginnner grade for about 3/4 mile along a creek covered by oaks. Then it goes straight up and out of the trees and it gets hot!
Bring plenty of water.
