Description for American River Bike Trail
The American River Bike Trail is a paved multi-use path, it does not have much in terms of mountain biking challenges but it is a nice place for a family ride through a scenic area. There are some trails that follow along the path that allow bikes, however some of them are for hikers and horses only, please obey all posted signage.

You could probably ride this trail 2 Dozen times and not cover all the possible trail combinations. Never far from a paved bike trail it's a good place to burn on the single track and then recover as needed on the trail, jump off back to single track.
BAD for runners and others walking on the trails, riders going both directions on narrow trails....
Several areas that are NOT beginner, but still nothing that is very technical. Not something worth a day trip but if your close it's better than a lot of other "fire road" rides.
