Description for Black Diamond Mines
Black Diamond offers a range of different trails for riders of most ability levels. There are a couple of loop options that range from 10 to 25 miles, or you can ride the trail as an out and back. There is a fair amount of climbing so those that have not built up their lungs may want to seek out a less physically challenging ride.
For the most part the riding is not overly technical, but those looking for more of a challenge should check out the Cocoran Mine Trail which is the most technical trail in the system.

I started from Clayton at the trail head near a golf course. The climb is a moderate workout, but the views of the Delta completely took my mind off of the climb. As always, take plenty of water- 100 oz, so you can explore this beautiful park. There is a water faucet near the mines on the east side of the park over the ridge from Clayton.

Fun fire-road ride, parked off Clayton Rd near Oakhurst Country Club. Nice 2.2 mile climb and then lots of elevation changes. Nice views.
