Description for Moccasin Gap Horse Trails
The Moccasin Gap trails are an intermediate level mix of singletrack an fireroad riding in the beautiful Ozark National Forest. The trails are mixed use, shared with horses and ATV's, because of these they tend to be torn up and hold water for several days after rain due to erosion problems. However the trails are still very ridable. There are four loops, each fairly similar to the other but in all there is a nice variety of riding. There is a bit of climbing and some of the downhill stuff is amazing, you can really air it out on some of the jumps!
Overall the trail is pretty rocky, those that don't want to do a lot of peddling can shuttle if you want to ride all the way down to Indian Creek. A full detailed map can be had at Mack's Pines campground on Hwy 7. Old mill. Another bonus is that there are some waterfalls. Warning there are frequently horses on the trial.
