Description for National Trail
National Trail is a nice long ride that starts at the base of the north west side of the mountain park. The ride starts with a long climb which turns into a killer downhill. This route can be done as a shuttle for those not as excited to earn your downhill. National runs the whole length of the park and intersects with almost every other trail in the area, making for a very diverse riding experience by adding different loops each time you ride. This ride should be done by strong intermediate riders and above, there is some very technical ups and downs on this trail, but it is loads of fun.
For the shuttle:
You can drive up the mountain and unload at the Buena Vista lookout and ride down towards the east which will dump you out near Guadalupe road, the trail from end to end is around 15 miles.
Directions to National Trail Trailhead
many different ways to hook up with the national trail, but i typicAlly take the i10 to baseline, west on baseline to central, south on central and just follow the road all the way up to the buena vista lookout to unload. park another car at the end of guadalupe rd, unless you want to make the ride all the way back to the top.
