Description for Six Shooter Canyon
Six Shooter can be done as an out and back or as a shuttle, we thankfully selected to do the shuttle, it would have been a long grind and burned up a couple hours, of course we did not get that sense of accomplishment or feel like we earned the down, but we do a fair bit of climbing so we feel like this one was owed to us.
The trail is an epic down, definitely not for someone that is not an advanced rider capable of keeping control of their bike in fast technical extreme circumstances. Bighit bike, fullface helmet and armor are a good idea for this trail but we didn't have any of those and ended up okay (I didn't feel like I needed them at any point), I did put the elbow pads on though.
I am pretty good about thoroughly checking out my bike before any ride and ended up shredding a sidewall thankfully my buddy carries a bike shop on his back (seriously his pack is almost 50 lbs) and he had a spare tire with him, we also had a lot of flats on the trail, it could have just been one of those days but the trail did seem to eat tires.
Overall, Six Shooter is a great trail, well laid out singletrack and epic downhill make for a great day on the bike.
