The Hawes trails are fairly technical, with some tight spots and exposure. If unfamiliar with the area, be sure to ride with someone who is, as there are lots of trail options and a wrong turn could lead to a tricky section!

Wow, one wrong turn changes this ride completely.
There are some seriously technical sections out there. Some of the sections are terraced to avoid erosion and others have small rock walls place to control erosion which can make for a very interesting climb and descent. Allot of decomposed granite and some river bed sections are loose. This is by far one of the more challenging trails Ive ridden on my short visit to the Phoenix area.
Its not that is it a grueling climb or super long, its that is is completely spontaneous, especially if you've not ridden in this area before. The climbs are short, steep and technical, the single track is probably the most grooved in i have ever seen and the rocks are abundant!
Every corner holds something to challenge you, think fast choose a line and have a blast!
